Who we are
The SER Group was founded with the aim to create a sustainable future through IT and WEEE recycling. As of today, the SER Group has established itself as one of the leading recycling companies in the UK. With SER’s vast experience within the recycling industry it became apparent that there was an ongoing demand for a lithium battery recycling solution in the UK and internationally.
As an answer to this growing demand the SER Group founded Cellcycle.
Our locations
Cellcycle operates two Environment Agency approved battery recycling facilities. Both based in the North West, our two sites have a combined permitted capacity to process up to 80,000 tonnes of li-ion battery material per year.

Our History

2013
SER is launched
Since the company’s launch in 2013 SER has grown to become one of the UK’s leading recyclers of IT and waste electronic equipment.
2020
Dedicated Lithium Battery Recycling Division
In November 2020 SER launched its dedicated battery recycling division Cellcycle.
2022
Becoming Fully Licensed
In February 2022 SER successfully obtained approval for both battery treatment (ABTO) and battery exportation (ABE).
2023
Acquired Second Site
In the third quarter of 2022 SER acquired a second site, with capability to process 75,000 tonnes of battery material. In 2023 SER’s second site received ABTO license.
2023
Innovate Funding
SER in partnership with Coventry University wins grant funding to
help scale up Europe’s first bio-remediation battery recycling facility.
2024
Pilot Scale Bio-remediation Plant
Small-scale commercialisation of
bio-remediation application for battery recycling.
